Hampden's Regiment

Coll. John Hampden's Regiment of Foote is a re-enactment group within the Roundhead Association. The Roundhead Association and the King's Army together form the English Civil War Society. Founded in 1974, the regiment was named in honour of the real-life regiment commanded in the seventeenth century by John Hampden MP and took the field in 1642. As one of the pivotal English figures of the 1630s John Hampden stood up against Tyranny and Oppression! He was known in his lifetime as "Patriae Pater" (the father of the people) and had he not been tragically killed in the Civil War, the outcome might have been very different.
